lander's river trips

Our Entire Legacy was Built on What If’s

What if there was a place where people could go for adventure, for love, for a pause?

Bob Lander stumbled across a secret garden of beauty when he made the journey up to the Upper Delaware region sixty-five years ago. His hard work, determination, and passion for the land he found translated into the strong ties he built to the river he fell in love with.

Bob created a place where the craziness of the world could be put on pause and families could explore. Where people could rediscover themselves and each other. Where nature meets passion. A place where what ifs become reality – where the question of what do we do today becomes an adventure that puts cellphones away, emails unopened in the inbox, and where noise blends into serenity. And, sixty-five beautiful years later, we are proud to still carry on that legacy. To still put those what if’s into fruition.

Being a family business is part adventure, part passion, and a whole lot of love.

Since 1955, Lander’s has been a staple in the Upstate New York area – we’ve spent the last sixty-five years growing, learning, and, most importantly, loving with this peaceful little haven. Watching it grow over the decades, flourish under hardship and be strong in the face of world changes. Today that’s no different – on the contrary, today that’s more important than ever.

Everyday, we get up and go to work doing the jobs that we love. We’re able to connect people to the places that we love, to the river that has meant so much to our family, to the land that we ourselves have grown up loving. It’s been a wonderful sixty-five years, and we are looking to many more in the future.

While there’s been a lot of craziness in the world lately, one thing has remained standard for us and that’s the legacy that Bob Lander built when he settled on our little corner of the world for his flourishing business six decades ago. We are grateful for every laugh, picture, memory, and guest that has crossed our doorstep (well, grassy knoll or river bank) that we have had the honor to share with our community over the years. Even as the world is changing in front of our eyes every day we have remained constant, and, now, when times are so unsure, we are more grateful for that legacy than ever before.

With a little help from our neighbors here in Upstate New York, we’ve been able to celebrate our birthday with a bang.

This past weekend we had the pleasure of celebrating our 65th anniversary here in our beautiful little slice of paradise. We had friends, family, neighbors, and even some new faces join us in celebrating the legacy that was left for us to carry on – the torch of friendliness, adventure, and nature that drew us here in the first place.

The turnout was wonderful. The memories made this past week were unforgettable. And we are so grateful for each and every one of you who blessed us with your company over these last few days. With everything so crazy, it was nice to spend our anniversary around so many fantastic people, and so much happiness.

Thank you for every laugh, smile, conversation, and journey we had this past weekend. We are so excited to see where the next couple of decades takes us.

There’s still time to enjoy our little slice of paradise before the season’s over.

School’s back in session and fall’s rolling in, leaving only a few weeks left to this fantastic – if a little strange – sixty fifth season here at Lander’s. We still have some open slots for reservations so grab your loved ones and come on down our season continues until October 12th.
